teams and national squads
just like in my little community of soccer there is a difference in level of play between professional clubs and national clubs. the united states we have the MLS (major league soccer) and the general level of soccer pales in comparison to Spain's budis liga. so scouting for national teams mostly take place out the country now. there is something Ive found that supports this 100% I play this game called Fifa 10 which is a soccer game that features many of the worlds soccer teams and is very accurate in the portray of players and teams. i created a character in the game and played for one of the MLS soccer clubs i was top scorer for 2 seasons something like over 70 in a season goals which is crazy! And yet the USA national team has not noticed me. i created another player who played for, in my opinion the best team in the world, Barcelona. the second guy was on the national squad within half a season and did not score more than 4 goals. Goes to show how bias the world of soccer is to the weaker professional leagues and the best in the world leagues. Its so hard to even make it to our MLS league i could only imagine how tough it is for those kids who live where everyone lives and plays soccer.

growing soccer knowlegde
with the new comming year I have joined a new soccer club p.a.c brazil. p.a.c is the portuguese athletics club. my new club is the oldest and one of the most productive clubs there are currently 3-4 national players who play for p.a.c and usa national teams from u14 to u15. with this new club i have a chance to see what it takes to make it and the pressure is put in college and grades. I have learned that through this club I am being put infront of college couches, scouts for the national team, and actual proffesional club teams. A helpfull tip ive learned was making a bio sheet which is your soccer career and the key component is GPA. who knew!!! the point of the bio sheet is to show any college scout your records and helps them know you and greatly increases your chances of being called for a tryout. hopefully in my next tournement which is state cup i can get a scout to like me.

scouting
in the world of soccer at least here in sanjose scouts almost never go see teams unless they know a player or players are college level many ways to get scouts to look at you and how im trying to get scouted are join a top 10 team in your state. but aside from that higschools do somtimes get scouted and getting to know them helps alot becuase they now know who you are. there are college camps where they train you but also look to see if they want you on their team which is a very good way to get loked at. another way to get looked at by college scouts is show case tournements where. Building up a reputation is all a team based thing so the best the team can be the better you will be and therfore more scouting! relationships are key becuase you dont know who talks to who and in the world of soccer is all connected burning bridges doesnt help credit torward your name. laslty some would say that highschool is not how to get scouted but people do read the news paper and getting first all around team does help repution no matter how bad the team around you is standing out is important.
